Issa's Story
Issa was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She grew up roaming the halls of a Latino arts center, where her whole family took classes in theatre, salsa, painting, and more. Growing up in this environment showed Issa that art draws people together from all different walks of life. Later on, she joined choir and theatre in middle school just for the fun of it, but didn't fall in love with theatre-making until high school. During the summer after Issa's sophomore year, she participated in the Alliance Theatre's 2017 Palefsky Collision Project, which changed her life forever. It awakened the belief that storytelling can change the world. Since then, Issa has done her best to make each theatrical experience meaningful. During college, she grew a passion for improving behavioral health through theatre and has worked on multiple projects that have fulfilled her desire to make a long-lasting impact on others.
